The debate over whether or not global warming is a reality has continued to rage even today. People on both sides of the debate feel that its role is either greater or lesser than it is argued. The reality is that it has had at least some effect on the environment and the way we live our lives.

Recent concerns over the melting of icebergs and rising temperatures has caused the government and the public to sit up and take notice of the problem. It has even impacted our weather, which in some cases has become more severe. This has caused many to sit up and take notice of the problem, even going so far as to educate children in schools about the issue and its consequences. Many are standing up and demanding that action is taken to reverse its effects.

Much progress has been made in reducing emissions from cars, factories and other industrial activities. People are starting to change their driving habits and hybrid vehicles have become more popular. New legal regulations have increased the watchful eye that is kept on how much pollutant is allowed to be emitted into the atmosphere. As the general attitude swings towards being more friendly to the environment, we are starting to see some positive effects that come with change.

The next generation seems to be very open to being green, recycling and using nature’s resources more wisely. These actions will help to create good habits throughout society and make the environment healthy once more.

Is Climate Change Real?

Scientists say that the climate is changing. There are arguments about whether that’s true or whether that’s just a made up issue that’s not actually important. It’s hard to determine fact from fiction, sometimes. That’s especially true when there are so many conflicting stories and it’s hard to know which ones are the most factual. For a long time, the media will say one thing. Then, there will be a study that says something completely different. Who and what should you believe? Some of your own research will need to come into play, if you’re going to make a decision on something like climate change.

Of course, you can also push the information to the ‘back burner’ of your mind and just not worry about it, but that won’t really solve anything in the end. If climate change is real and you’re ignoring it, that could lead to serious problems for you later on. If it isn’t real, you haven’t lost anything by ignoring it. The best thing to do is just make sure that you are paying attention to what both sides of the argument say and learning about climate change for yourself. The more you learn independently, the better able you will be to make a decision that’s right for you. That way you won’t be ignoring the issue or spending too much time worrying about something that might never come to pass.

You shouldn’t assume that there are no reasons to consider climate change. Scientists have been studying the issue for a long time, and they know that there’s something to the weather changes that have been taking place. Whether they are the result of a man-made problem or they are only part of the cycle of the planet, though, is hard to tell. There are many different theories, and none of them have been conclusively proven to be accurate as of yet.

How do We Know it’s Getting Warmer?

Mean surface temperature change for the period...

When they talk about global warming what do they really mean? Is it a summer that feels a little hotter than normal? Is it a river rising a bit higher than you can remember? Is it massive flooding all over the world? To what extent is global warming and what defines it? What is known is that over the last century the temperature has shown a significant increase. This means that the world has one specific temperature and that temperature has steadily increased.

But it’s not just the temperature that has given them the indication that there is a problem with global warming. They have also observed changes to things like the amount of methane that is released in the arctic and the size of the polar ice cap that are without question smaller than they used to be. But beyond that there is an increase in the carbon that is being released from permafrost which can make a significant difference. See fossil fuels already give off more carbon than the earth can handle due to the fact that the world uses so many fossil fuels. With the addition of carbon from the permafrost this can easily contribute to the increased problem with global warming.

What’s worse is that global temperatures are going to increase over the century. This change in the weather as an average temperature could lead to extreme weather events that have already been seen. This could also alter the amount of rain countries are seeing. It could result in an increase across the board. Now, this doesn’t mean there is an idea of how weather will change when you pinpoint it to regions but there will be a significant change to the world as a whole. This of course coincides with the warmer weather that is going to happen which will only make it probable that there will be a far more reaching impact when that happens. The fact is there is a lot to tell experts that things are warming up and no one is ready for that.

How will Global Warming Affect Weather?

So when you hear global warming you have an idea of what they means. You hear key words like fossil fuels and global warming and polar ice caps but that doesn’t mean you know anything about what that is doing to the world you live in. So the question is: what are the physical impacts of the problem of global warming and what, if anything, can be done to stop it?

The first thing that global warming is going to effect is the day to day weather. This certainly doesn’t mean hurricane and massive flooding wherever you go but then again it does mean that the amount of rainfall most places get is expected to change, and result in an increase. But don’t even think about counting out the violent storms. This has a lot to do with the increase in the weather. With that weather change there is little to no doubt that violent and destructive weather will continue. Another way extreme weather is likely to take it’s toll is that with the rise in the mean temperature there is going to be more heat waves in the coming years. If you have lived through a heat wave then you know that it can be taxing on those with health problems, those without proper ventilation and those who are elderly. This should only result in more fatalities.

Let’s not forget either just how much extreme heat could affect the areas where crops are. Heat causes droughts in the summer months which is prime harvesting season so to think that those crops won’t get the water they need or deserve is a problem in and of itself. With these heat and rainfall changes you can expect that the amount of cyclones that the world has seen should increase at least 2 fold. And of course all these changes in the rainfall make it certain that there will be high levels of sea water. This just leads to rampant changes in the sea which could cause a serious amount of flooding.

Changing The Way We Work – Very Important To Protect The Environment

You must be prepared to move out of your comfort zone to protect the environment. Everybody loves to talk about preventing global warming and saving the environment. However, nobody will ever be interested in doing anything about it.

Well, if you have any doubts, why don’t you ask all the employees in your office who work with you to try and save paper during their daily activities. You will receive a lot of applause for coming up with such an idea.

However, chances are high that your colleagues will classify you as a pest when you actually try and implement the plan. Most persons misuse the environment and waste resources out of sheer habit and carelessness. Nobody does this voluntarily.

That is the reason why people get irritated when they are told that their daily and natural life style is harmful for the environment. Why don’t you try telling your colleague that he or she has wasted four sheets of paper with just one would have sufficed.

Chances are high that you will get a lot of excuses why using four sheets was important. In any event, the damage has been done and you will not gain anything by criticism.

This is the reason why you should take steps to send the message across in the loudest manner possible. Do not just stop by making suggestions. It is important to create awareness. The good old banners and placards are the best way to improve awareness.

Of course, you can also make use of social networking websites and the local area network in your office to spread the message. Further, do not expect results in a single day. You will have to be very patient. Further, you must be prepared to take the lead and do whatever is necessary to complete the task. Chances are high that you will succeed if you are patient enough and stick to the task till the very end.
